Splitting a PDF into individual pages is useful when you receive a multi-section document and need to distribute each part to different people, for example, separate sections of a contract, pages of a workbook, or chapters of a lengthy report.

The result is a ZIP file containing each page of the original PDF as a separate .pdf file. Files inside the ZIP are automatically named in sequence for easy organization. All formatting, images, and fonts from the original page are preserved in each extracted file.

For single-page documents, the tool delivers the PDF directly without creating a ZIP. If what you actually need is the opposite, removing just a few specific pages while keeping the rest as a single file, the Remove Pages tool is more direct than splitting everything and merging it back together.

Frequently asked questions

Does the result come as a ZIP file?â–¾

Yes, for PDFs with multiple pages. Each page becomes a .pdf file inside the ZIP. Single-page PDFs are delivered directly without archiving.

Can I choose which pages to extract?â–¾

The current tool splits all pages. To work with a specific range, download the pages you need from the ZIP and use the Merge PDF tool to recombine them.

Does it work with password-protected PDFs?â–¾

No. Password-protected PDFs need to have the protection removed before they can be split.

Is there a page limit or file size limit?â–¾

There is no page limit. We accept PDFs up to 50 MB.
