PNG to JPG

Convert PNG images to the JPG format, reducing the file size. Select multiple at once. Free, unlimited, no signup.

💡 If the image has transparency, it's replaced with a white background, JPG doesn't support transparency.

How it works

1

Upload your PNG image(s)

Select one or multiple .png images at once. We accept up to 20 files per batch.

2

Automatic conversion

The image is converted to JPG. Transparent areas become a white background, since JPG has no alpha channel.

3

Download the JPG

A much lighter file, ideal for sharing or attaching in emails and websites.

PNGs tend to be much larger than equivalent JPGs, especially photos, PNG is a lossless format, so it stores far more information than the human eye typically notices in a photograph.

Converting to JPG significantly reduces the file size, which helps with upload size limits, email attachments, and websites that need to load fast.

The size reduction is usually bigger than the reverse conversion (JPG to PNG): a screenshot or an image with lots of solid colors in PNG can easily drop 70% or more in size when converted to JPG, since PNG stores every pixel losslessly even in repetitive color areas.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to the PNG's transparency?â–¾

Since JPG doesn't support transparency, any transparent area in the original image is filled with a white background during conversion.

Will I lose quality converting PNG to JPG?â–¾

JPG uses lossy compression, so there may be a small quality loss, usually imperceptible to the naked eye at the setting we use. In exchange, the file gets much smaller.

Can I convert multiple images at once?â–¾

Yes. Select as many PNG images as you need, up to 20 per batch. The result comes in a ZIP with one JPG per file.
